Sue has had a studio at Woodend since 2001. She works in sculpture, installation, printmaking and painting and has taught predominantly printmaking for a number of years.

She says of her work, “I am fascinated by the notion of discovering and collecting objects but more importantly, of how they are displayed and ordered. Found objects have an inherent history and even when placed in a new context, still maintain a link with their previous existence. An object when placed behind glass is invested with a “preciousness”. It becomes protected and untouchable.”

Working with a range of printmaking techniques as well as painting, allows Sue the freedom to explore the three dimensionality of her sculpture and she often uses objects included in her sculpture to print with.

Sue exhibits widely and has work in private and corporate collections.

“My work is concerned with the transformation of materials and objects into artefacts that are both precious and mysterious.”
